Based on the Sustainable Mobility Cooperation program (SMM), RAI Automotive Industry NL is organizing a trade mission to the south of Germany from 9 – 11 December of this year. In the area of Nürnberg, you will be participating in several company visits and this will be accompanied by possibilities for matchmaking and networking. We allow 2 members for each company to participate.
For entrepreneurs and employees of the following types of businesses, this trip will be interesting in particular: energy, infrastructure, automotive, battery technology, and logistics. The program is generated together with Bayern Innotiv, the Association for Innovation and Knowledge Transfer in Freistaat Bayern, The Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO), the Dutch Embassy in Berlin, and the Consulate in Munich.
During this mission, we will visit several large-scale companies in the Bundesland of Bayern that are active in the development and production of battery systems and battery technology. For example, we will visit MAN Trucks, Sonplas, and Webasto to have a look at the kitchens of these companies and explore possibilities for cooperation.
This will pose a unique chance for international networking. Besides this, you will be closely informed about the current developments and possibilities within Germany! Market studies have shown that there are numerous interesting opportunities for cooperation between the Netherlands and Germany in the area of batteries. Especially for automotive, heavy-duty, and stationary batteries.
Both our countries have high ambitions regarding durability and new battery technologies. These ambitions are quite comparable, however, in Germany mainly on a larger scale because of the nature and sheer size of their industry. Also according to the European Commission the Netherlands and Germany are strong partners in innovation and the transition to a sustainable economy.
Besides the business part, the trip will also lead to the traditional Christkindlsmarkt in Nürnberg where we will glow from the inside while enjoying the beautiful German cultural winter impressions together.

Tuesday 10 December 2024
Visit Nuremberg Technical College, the MAN Battery factory, and the traditional Christmas market. We end this day with a networking dinner.
Wednesday 11 December 2024
Visit Sonplas and Webasto battery factory. Afterward, we will travel back to the Netherlands at our convenience.
