Peter Stolk, chair of Holland High Tech, where the Top Sector High Tech Systems and Materials and the TKI HTSM board are united, commented: “I am deeply honoured to take over Marc Hendrikse's role within Holland High Tech. Much has been achieved in the past 13 years, and I am very excited to continue building on this innovation together with the organisation and all stakeholders in our ecosystem from 1 January 2025. Our high-tech systems and materials sector plays a crucial role in the necessary transitions for the future of the Netherlands. Through technological applications and key enabling technologies in our public-private partnerships, we can truly contribute to a safe, liveable, energy-resilient, and circular Netherlands.”

Leo Warmerdam, director of Holland High Tech and TKI HTSM, stated: “With his PhD in Experimental Physics from AMOLF and his extensive experience at organisations such as Philips, NXP, ASML, and Ampleon, Peter is exceptionally well-suited to address the innovation challenges we face, together with our (top) team, board, and partners. Over the past decades, he has gained broad management experience in international research, industrial, and business environments within the semiconductor, lighting, and automotive industries. His expertise as a connector in cross-functional projects and complex ecosystems ensures a strong alignment with the challenges and the people who will address them.”

Marc Hendrikse, an outgoing figurehead of the Top Sector High Tech Systems and Materials, remarked: “Innovation in the high-tech industry is not a sprint; it’s a marathon, and we must continue to emphasise that. We’ve known since the development of the sawmill that collaboration in the Netherlands can lead to inventive solutions for global challenges, contributing to our prosperity. What we started centuries ago continues in 2024 and well into the future. I am pleased that Peter, with all his experience, will take over and, together with the Holland High Tech team, work on innovations for our future under the motto: Global Challenges, Smart Solutions.” Marc Hendrikse celebrated his farewell on 9 December during the "High-Tech Holland’s Glory" symposium in Eindhoven, in the company of leading figures from the business community, knowledge institutions, and government.
