The Dutch automotive industry is largely dependent on exports. Of the total annual turnover, approximately €20 billion, almost 90% is from exports. By far the largest automotive export country is Germany (44%). The United Kingdom, France, Belgium, and the United States are also important trading partners.

RAI Automotive Industry NL is committed to supporting its members internationally. This involves building and maintaining relationships, promoting innovation, and trade relations, with a special focus on Germany, France, and the United States.

RAI Automotive Industry NL works together with various partners to successfully implement its internationalisation strategy. On a national level, important partners work together in the top sector HTSM, where international cooperation takes place under the banner of Holland High Tech. In addition, there is intensive collaboration with various Regional Development Companies (ROMs).

Abroad, we make use of the eyes and ears of the Dutch government's network. The Innovation Attaché Network in the various countries is the outpost in this regard. This also applies to the network of The Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency (NFIA).

Development in the coming years

The objective of the internationalization strategy is innovation and trade promotion. The international automotive industry is facing major changes in the coming years. We are convinced that the innovative partners of RAI Automotive Industry NL can make a major contribution to the further optimisation of the automotive and mobility sector.
