Monotch and Applied Information Join Forces for the Next Generation of Smart Mobility Infrastructure

Partnership enables seamless data exchange between vehicles, infrastructure, and mobility services in the U.S. and Europe.

Monotch and Applied Information Join Forces for the Next Generation of Smart Mobility Infrastructure

Monotch, the European market leader in real-time mobility data exchange, and Applied Information, the leading U.S. developer of intelligent traffic solutions and vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) systems, are connecting their technologies. Applied Information’s traffic signal controllers and its Glance® platform will be linked with Monotch’s TLEX® data exchange layer. The combined solution and joint market approach will enable the sharing of mobility data between vehicles, roadside systems, and service providers on both sides of the Atlantic.

The partnership was announced during the ITS World Congress in Atlanta, USA.

Unlocking new opportunities through system and data integration

By integrating Applied Information’s equipment into the TLEX® ecosystem, roadside system data will become available for applications used by public authorities (cities, counties, and state departments of transportation), vehicle systems, service providers, AI models, and vehicle manufacturers. Conversely, the Glance® platform will gain access to high-quality real-time and near real-time traffic and sensor data supplied through TLEX by connected providers. This enables Applied Information and its distribution partners to deliver advanced traffic solutions powered by both technologies.

Accelerating smart mobility in the United States

The initial focus is on rollout in the U.S. The collaboration supports cities and regions in accelerating vehicle-to-infrastructure applications such as advanced intersection management, emergency vehicle and public transport priority strategies, and improved network monitoring. With TLEX and Glance speaking the same “mobility language,” the time from data availability to practical applications for road authorities and their technology partners is significantly shortened.

Impact on safety, traffic flow, and sustainability

Both organizations share the same mission: making traffic safer, improving traffic flow, and advancing sustainable mobility. This collaboration enables smarter traffic management, faster emergency response, reduced congestion, and better-informed road users. With a joint presence in U.S. cities and regions as well as European municipalities and road authorities, Monotch and Applied Information are creating tangible impact in the mobility ecosystem.
