IATF 16949 is an international standard setting out the criteria for a quality management system (QMS) in the automotive industry. It is aligned with ISO 9001, while addressing specific automotive requirements.
The standard was developed by the IATF, a group of automotive manufacturers and their respective trade associations, to promote a unified and standardized approach to quality management. IATF 16949 is a vital tool in the pursuit of excellence within the automotive industry. By fostering a culture of quality, process management, and risk-based thinking the standard helps organizations not only to meet the current industry challenges but also to prepare for the future. As automotive technology continues to advance, IATF 16949 guides companies toward the highest levels of quality and customer satisfaction.
