During a recent follow-up meeting with the Ministry of Economic Affairs, representatives from RAI Vereniging, CLEPA, and ACEA discussed the current situation and the potential consequences of the prolonged export ban. RAI Vereniging emphasized the need for de-escalation, diplomatic coordination, and supply security within the European vehicle supply chain. The Ministry confirmed that intensive diplomatic efforts are ongoing, both bilaterally with China and through European channels, to restore trade flows and prevent further production disruptions.
ACEA has issued a statement warning of imminent production stoppages among European vehicle manufacturers, as chip reserves are rapidly depleting. The organization urges all parties involved to intensify their diplomatic efforts, emphasizing that the situation is deteriorating rapidly. RAI Vereniging fully supports this call and continues to work closely with ACEA, CLEPA, and the Dutch government to ensure stability within the European mobility ecosystem.
RAI Automotive Industry NL will continue to monitor developments closely and keep stakeholders informed as the situation evolves.
